At Hardings Group, we have our own Asphalt Batch Plant which enables us to supply asphalt on our own projects, as well as being a supplier to other businesses and councils.
Our asphalt plant has the ability to produce up to 80 tonnes per hour and runs on liquid natural gas with all operations computerised.
All asphalt plant operations are carried out under strict environmental and energy guidelines, with waste materials recycled back through the plant for the making of asphalt.
All material produced by the asphalt plant meets one of our VicRoads registered mix designs in accordance with RC 500.01.
We have registered mix designs for:
- 7, 10 and 14mm dense grade
- 10 and 14mm heavy grade
- 14mm psv54 dense grade and heavy grade
Hardings Group has a NATA accredited lab in house, where we are able to test our product to ensure it meets the required mix design. We test our asphalt every 250 tonnes or part thereof in accordance with VicRoads/Tasmanian Department of State Growth Specification 407. (NATA Accreditation No: 20529, Site Number: 24593).
